TAKE YOUR PLACE. LEAVE YOUR MARK.

IF YOU DON'T INFLUENCE YOUR KIDS, SOMEONE ELSE WILL.

There are certain things in life that you don't concern yourself with until they happen and manhood is not one of them.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a plan, a strategy? So where do you start? What if you never had a father? Well, either way, one thing’s for certain, you can’t let your earthly father-figure encounters decide this for you. My real father wasn’t really in my life and I’ve had my share of ‘step’ dads along the way. However, I decided that there’s no situation too ‘unique’ enough to make the excuse not to do right by my son(s). This is one of the most important things you will ever do! I’m not just talking about good parenting; father-son bonding time or even teaching them how to fight, communicating manhood is different and unique only to fathers. This is where you decide that you want to invest in your son(s) concept of manhood more than you want to breathe!

Though we can all be kids at heart, there comes a time for growing up and modeling this thing called manhood until it takes root. 1 Co. 13:11 says; “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me”. You see, it’s not about perfection, but it is about follow through and there are enough resources out there, but it comes down to deciding today and the answer is simple, just start!

I don’t care if you start by taking 10 minutes a day building Legos or drawing together or making paper airplanes, just start! Read, ride bikes, teach them something useful, moral, safe and age appropriate. Try hard to show an interest in what they like because a little attention goes along way and remember, just cause you were an athlete, doesn’t mean they’re genetically predisposed to be one too. When my sons come in to show me something they’ve made or need, I try hard to make time for what they want me to see no matter how small.

Bridge the gap between you and them. Whatever you do, just make a decision and do it! Pray and ask God for help and He’ll send it. If you’re reading this, you’re already on your way! Find common ground and get involved in your kid’s life and just start! Ask questions about their day. Learn about their interests. If you have more than one child or various ages or twins, then make sure you divide your love evenly, don’t pick favorites or you’ll undermine everything we’re encouraging you to do.

Something else that we believe in, the success behind all of this comes from having a relationship with our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus. Accountability to a close friend is also crucial. A fellow-man in your journey who can be trusted to help you and uphold you. It sets the tone for everything you do in life. So whether you’re already involved or you’re just getting started, this site was designed with you in mind!
